Play + Connect Activity

Select one student to be the thrower. The thrower stands facing away from the other students, who are all the scattered in the circle area. The thrower holds the ball and recites the chant, throwing the ball gently up and over his head when he says the last line of the chant. Watch it, watch it; Here it comes; Big ball, little ball; fun for all! Here it comes! When a student catches the ball, she hides the ball behind her back. All the other students also put their hands behind their backs while they respond together. Player, guesser; Hear the call; One of us has caught the ball!

Make the game even more interesting by having the guesser answer a question related to any subject if they don’t find the hidden object or have the person hiding the object answer a question if they are discovered by the guesser. Could be a simple as math facts.

Reflect Activity

How did it feel when you were not able to discover who was hiding the ball with your three guesses? Was it hard not to give hints to the guesser?
