Students will take turns and encourage others to try. The students will support their teammates whether they are successful or not and have fun with the challenge. 

S.T.A.R. Options:

Class Clap, counting, and rhythms. Teacher or one student lead. When the whole class sounds as one, try tow, then three, etc…

Math Counting (Multiples) Partner Counting. Clapping as a group to desired number. Add a partner and alternate count. Change partners.


Play + Connect Activity

Divide your class into two teams. Place one team on each side of a cloth. Have two people hod the cloth up so you cannot see anyone from the other team. Secretly have one person step up to the cloth. On a count of three drop the cloth. The objective to say the name of the person from the other team before they say the name of the person on the other side of the cloth. 


Breathing Exercise Options:

Belly Breathing

5 belly breaths with mouth closed and hands on belly. Goal is to get students to breathe through nose and use their diaphragm. There should be very little movement of the chest and the belly should move in and out. Can do several rounds of this activity.

Accordion Breathing

5 belly breaths with mouth closed and hands on sides of lower ribs. Goal is to get students to breathe through nose and use their diaphragm. There should be very little movement of the chest and the students should feel movement outward on the inhale. Can do several rounds of this activity.


Learn + Grow Activity

Not only does the player need to give the name of the person across from them, they need to answer the question held up on the card by that person. (math facts, shapes, review questions on any subject, or many other great ideas). 

Reflect Activity


Are some people better coming up with answers when put on the spot? How does knowing everyone’s name help our classroom? How do you remember people’s names?
